The acquisition will double the size of Cushman &amp; Wakefield\u2019s Italian practice with the addition of 150 new professionals to the team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s announcement is a very significant moment for our Italian business,\u201d Joachim Sandberg, head of Italy and the Southern Europe region with Cushman &amp; Wakefield, said in prepared remarks. \u201cOur business is driven first and foremost by our people so it gives me great pleasure to welcome 150 new professionals to the global Cushman &amp; Wakefield team and I\u2019m looking forward to working with them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cogest Retail will become an integral part of Cushman &amp; Wakefield\u2019s EMEA Asset Services business\u2014a business which will manage roughly 3.5 million square meters (38 million square feet) of floor space in Italy. Cogest Retail currently manages a portfolio of 52 retail centers and retail parks and more than 1.5 million square meters (16 million square feet) of floor space across the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe acquisition of Cogest Retail is consistent with our commitment to profitably grow the scale and performance of our substantial EMEA business,\u201d added John Forrester, EMEA chief executive at Cushman &amp;
