HGU New York<\/p><\/div>\n

New York<\/strong>\u2014Alfa Development<\/a>, one of Manhattan\u2019s leading real estate companies, is ready to lift the curtain on its first hospitality project<\/a>, Hotel Grand Union New York, formerly known as Hotel St. Louis. HGU is located at 34 E. 32nd<\/sup> St. in the NoMad District, not far from iconic sights in Manhattan such as the Empire State Building, Fifth Avenue or Grand Central Terminal.<\/p>\n

The 10-story Beaux-Arts building dating from 1905 offers 90 guest rooms ranging from Queen to King Suite. Alfa Development selected\u00a0Peter Guzy of Asfour Guzy Architects<\/a> and DD Allen of Pierce Allen Design<\/a> to preserve the historic charm of the place and add a contemporary feel to it, while addressing sustainability through a state of the art HVAC system which decreases the carbon footprint by 50 percent.<\/p>\n

“While the renovation brings new life to this landmark hotel, we are preserving the historic elements to what we believe the hotel would have offered, providing guests with an experience grounded in a century-long New York<\/a> point of view”, said Michael Namer, CEO of Alfa Development.<\/p>\n

Amenities include luxury 300-thread count Frette bedding, bath and beauty products from C.O. Bigelow Apothecaries, 24-hour room service and complimentary high speed Wi-Fi, plus iPad minis for in room use. The wood cabinets and furniture, hand-woven patchwork Turkish rugs and velvet headboards complete the serenely decorated entryway of each room.<\/p>\n

The HGU New York is complete with a lobby bar, a NoMad Kitchen restaurant and two lounge areas, including one on the roof. The \u201c1905\u201d lounge at the ground floor was designed to\u00a0host live music events, Q&A series or private film screenings. The space includes a fireplace from the building’s original structure. HGU teamed up with nearby Gallery 151 and it plans to showcase contemporary pieces, inspired by the urban backdrop of the Big Apple.<\/p>\n

Reservations are being accepted for those looking for an authentic NYC experience. Room rates start at $329.<\/p>\n

Alfa Development is known for its residential and commercial investments in Manhattan, with HGO being its first hospitality project.<\/p>\n
