Baton Rouge, La.<\/strong>\u2013U-Haul<\/a> is bringing new self-storage options<\/a> to Baton Rouge with the acquisition of the former A Storage for U facility at 8415 Greenwell Springs Road on the city\u2019s northeast side.<\/p>\n

U-Haul Moving & Storage at Greenwell Springs Road<\/a> features 10 buildings with 60,000 square feet of storage space. The facility offers 346 outdoor drive-up storage units and 136 indoor units, including 50 climate-controlled units. The new U-Haul store also provides truck and trailer rentals, towing equipment, moving supplies and boxes.<\/p>\n

The property has the advantage of being situated just eight miles from Louisiana State University’s campus, presenting students with a convenient location to safely store their belongings between semesters when they return home or change residences.<\/p>\n

“Before U-Haul took over this property, we had only 55 U-Haul-owned storage units in Baton Rouge. This acquisition now truly puts us in the storage business here,” Patrick Allen, president of U-Haul Co. of Southern Louisiana, said in prepared remarks.<\/p>\n

The facility is currently undergoing numerous upgrades.<\/p>\n

“We are increasing the lighting, upgrading security with new cameras and remodeling the front office,” added Derek Edens, the store\u2019s general manager. “This will be a premier facility where residents can depend on their storage units to be clean, dry and secure. U-Haul is a trusted name in the moving and storage industry, and for good reason.”<\/p>\n

The acquisition of the Baton Rouge location was driven by U-Haul Co.\u2019s Corporate Sustainability<\/a> initiatives. Through this program, U-Haul supports infill development to help local communities lower their carbon footprint by readapting existing buildings while reducing their unwanted inventory of unused facilities.<\/p>\n
