The store\u2019s footprint will include both existing historic buildings as well as a new construction at the base of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.extelldev.com\/extell_development.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Extell Development Co.&#8217;s<\/a>\u00a0supertall Central Park Tower.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re building in the context of the world\u2019s greatest stores in the best retail city in the world and our ambition is to create an entire experience that reflects the best of what we have to offer,\u201d Pete Nordstrom, co-president of Nordstrom, said in prepared remarks. \u201cWe think the modern exterior glass design combined with the historical renovations honor both the past and future of Manhattan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nordstrom\u2019s footprint will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Central Park Tower<\/strong> \u2013 The retailer will occupy approximately 292,000 square feet across seven stories at the base of the tower developed by Extell Development. Upon completion, the tower is expected to become the second largest building in the city\u2014and the country. The Tower portion also incorporates the landmark fa\u00e7ade of the former 1780 Broadway building, which will undergo a complete makeover.<\/li>\n<li><strong>5 Columbus Circle<\/strong> \u2013 Formerly the 1790 Broadway building, this section is owned by 1790 Broadway Associates. Nordstrom will occupy roughly 8,000 square feet of street-level retail space and rebuild the street-level fa\u00e7ade of the landmark building to evoke its historic design.<\/li>\n<li><strong>1776 Broadway<\/strong> \u2013 Sitting at the corner of W. 57<span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;line-height: 20px\">th<\/span>\u00a0St. and Broadway, the property is owned by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ulmholding.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">ULM Holding Corp.<\/a>\u00a0Nordstrom will occupy approximately 20,000 square feet of retail space across four floors at the site.<\/li>\n<li><strong>3 Columbus Circle<\/strong> \u2013 Owned by <a href=\"https:\/\/slgreen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">SL Green<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moinian.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The Moinian Group<\/a>, the roughly 43,000-square-foot portion will be the location of the Nordstrom Men\u2019s store.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In order to create a unified shopping experience, the interiors of Central Park Tower, 5 Columbus Circle and 1776 Broadway will be connected.<\/p>\n<p>Nordstrom\u2019s flagship Manhattan store will also incorporate a unique, glass-clad design created to catch light as it strikes through the east-west axis of West 57<span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;line-height: 20px\">th\u00a0<\/span>and West 58<span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;line-height: 20px\">th<\/span>\u00a0Streets.
