CIM Group<\/a>\u2019s new apartment tower at 108 N. State St. topped out, marking a crucial milestone in the company’s Block Thirty Seven project development.<\/p>\n

The 34-story, 690-unit\u00a0residential tower\u2014scheduled for completion in mid-2016\u2014sits atop the northern end of the Block Thirty Seven retail center that is currently being redeveloped by CIM Group into a massive mixed-use destination.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe tower will be a great addition to the Chicago skyline, and will contribute to the growing residential base in Chicago\u2019s Loop,\u201d 42nd Ward Alderman Brendan Reilly said. \u201cI applaud CIM Group for this project, which will provide hundreds of new residents with a home in a great location, proximate to public transit, many of the city\u2019s fine cultural attractions and the Chicago Lakefront.\u201d<\/p>\n

Located between Randolph and Washington streets in the Loop, the project takes its name from one of the original 58 blocks established in Chicago in 1830. Upon completion, the redeveloped block will also include roughly 400,000 square feet of retail and up to 450,000 square feet of office space as well as a 354-key hotel, as previously reported by Commercial Property Executive<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Since acquiring the 275,000-square-foot retail center on State Street, CIM Group added an 11-screen AMC Dine-In Theatre at the site, with a 22,000-square-foot casual dining hall opening mid-October.<\/p>\n

Designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz<\/a>, the new tower will offer residents easy access to Chicago\u2019s public transportation network, such as the Pedway and the CTA Red and Blue Lines.<\/p>\n
