By next summer, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) will add two new facilities with nearly identical names but considerably different missions. Park & Zoom will provide\u00a0covered parking for 2,000 vehicles, while Bark & Zoom<\/a> will cater to guests of the four-legged variety.<\/p>\n

Scott Airport Parking LLC recently started construction on the project, which received approval from the Austin City Council almost two years ago.<\/p>\n

Both services will be situated at 2601 Cardinal Loop near the intersection of Presidential Boulevard. Taurus Academy<\/a>, a local pet care company that currently has five locations, will operate the pet hotel.<\/p>\n

\u201cScott Airport Parking brings a welcome new service to AUS, pet boarding, in addition to more parking spaces,\u201d said Jim Smith, executive director of AUS. \u201cWe are pleased to be in a partnership to help bring these new amenities to our travelers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Park & Zoom will operate 24\/7 to keep up with flight schedules. In addition to boarding for pets, Taurus Academy has outdoor play yards, pet pool, and car care services. The parking and pet services will be located in the same building, which triggers discount rates to travelers who utilize both. Moreover, passengers boarding pets will get a free upgrade to valet parking by Park & Zoom.<\/p>\n

Lead consultants for the project include Levy Architects<\/a> and Big Red Dog Engineering<\/a>.<\/p>\n
