A new proposal presented before the Tulsa City Council on September 17 could change the face of the city\u2019s downtown.<\/p>\n

City Councilor Blake Ewing<\/strong> made a pitch before the Vision 2025 committee for a development project that would connect all the districts of Downtown Tulsa and create a central transit hub, NewsOn6<\/a> reported. Supported by conceptual designs rendered by local architecture firm Kinslow, Keith & Todd<\/a>, the councilor estimated a total investment cost of close to $200 million for the project.<\/p>\n

Dubbed \u2018Center of the Universe<\/strong>,\u2019 the plan calls for the development of \u201can elevated green space above existing train tracks that spans from Main Street to Elgin,\u201d according to the architecture firm. The project would connect attractions such as the OKPOP Museum and the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame, as well as the Brady Arts District to the Blue Dome District, Tulsa World<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n

According to Kinslow, Keith & Todd, the Center of the Universe project \u201cwill spur private development and provide connectivity to existing entertainment, business, and residential districts.\u201d The company has garnered considerable attention lately by proposing the Tulsa Tornado Tower, an innovative, cone-like structure that would be the home of the Oklahoma Weather Museum and Research Center. Founder and President Andy Kinslow recently spoke with Commercial Property Executive<\/a> about the firm\u2019s current and future plans in the Oil Capital of the World.<\/p>\n
