Newmark Grubb Knight Frank<\/a> announced this week that it represented Ropes & Gray LLP<\/a> in the lease negotiations for the company\u2019s new Washington, D.C., home. The law firm will move its headquarters to 2099 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W.<\/p>\n

Ropes & Gray will move its office from 700 12th St., where it had been located for the past 12 years, and will occupy more than 60,000 square feet of space at its new home. The law firm signed a 15-year lease with the 12-story office building\u2019s owner, Paramount Group Inc.<\/a> The landlord was represented in house by Leasing Director Matthew Gannon, together with Amy Bowser and Trip Howell of\u00a0JLL<\/a>. NGKF executive managing directors Larry Bank and Bill Zonghetti represented Ropes & Gray.<\/p>\n

“2099 Penn offers our client the opportunity to be located on one of the most recognizable streets in the United States and to take advantage of the natural light achieved with floor-to-ceiling windows to create a state-of-the-art office space and a high-tech conference center. This space will enhance Ropes & Gray\u2019s ability to serve its clients,\u201d Bank said in a statement.<\/p>\n

The international law firm\u2019s new home is a 208,636-square-foot glass-fa\u00e7ade building. Designed by renowned architects Pei Cobb Freed & Partners<\/a>, the Class A property offers its tenants numerous amenities, including around-the-clock security, a fitness center, on-site parking and a landscaped rooftop terrace.<\/p>\n

Ropes & Gray is one of the world\u2019s premier law firms. In addition to Washington, D.C., the company also has offices in New York City, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo and Seoul. The company currently has more than 1,100 employees worldwide.<\/p>\n
