Renovations worth $6.8 million are planned for the Washington Terrace<\/a> apartment complex located in Raleigh, according to The News & Observer<\/a><\/em>. The renovations will increase the number of affordable housing in this community up to 400 units, making it one of the largest projects of this kind in the area.<\/p>\n

Washington Terrace<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Located at 1951 Booker Drive, Washington Terrace apartment community offers one-, two- and three-bedroom affordable apartments. Community amenities include high speed internet access, laundry facility, emergency maintenance and air conditioning. The complex is also pet-friendly and in close proximity to public transportation. Neighborhood attractions for locals include Wells Fargo IMAX Theatre at Marbles, North Carolina Theatre, Raleigh Marriott City Center, Raleigh Boulevard Shopping Center and Longview Shopping Center.<\/p>\n

The Washing Terrace is owned by DHIC<\/a>, a non-profit organization that creates affordable housing in multiple cities. The Raleigh City Council has agreed the budget for the renovations of the complex and it will create more affordable units than it has created in the last five years combined. DHIC will work to secure other funding sources as well.<\/p>\n

The renovation plans include 162 units of most one- and two-bedroom units, on-site daycare facility and possibly a school.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
