What do you do if you own a property in Scott\u2019s Addition? If it\u2019s not an apartment building, you turn it into one.<\/p>\n

At least this is what this Baltimore-based company is doing.\u00a0Sieck Floral Group<\/a> is the latest in a long line of developers looking to revitalize Scott\u2019s Addition\u2019s dormant properties and turn the neighborhood into a vibrant community. According to<\/a>\u00a0the Richmond BizSense, the company is doing its part by renovating the former wholesale distribution warehouse at 3210 W. Leigh St. and turning the structure into apartments.<\/p>\n

The $3.5 million project broke ground earlier this year in April. Osprey Lofts\u2014the renovated property’s new name\u2014will include 30 one- and two-bedroom units ranging in size between 700 and 1,050 square feet. Residents will be able to enjoy such amenities as a rooftop pool and a fitness center.<\/p>\n

Sieck Floral purchased the 24,000-square-foot property in 2000 for $625,000. The company had the site rezoned for apartments last year and hired Thalhimer Realty Partners, the development arm of local real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer<\/a>, to lead construction. Osprey Lofts is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Pre-leasing is scheduled to start sometime next month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
