According to recent reports, a Northern Virginia developer intends to build a 17-story residential tower on a piece of vacant property it owns in Fort Norfolk.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Chantilly-based Tarrants Bay LLC is the company behind this massive project. Besides the residential component, plans also call for a marina, a mixed-use building, retail shops and parking space, The Virginian-Pilot <a href=\"https:\/\/hamptonroads.com\/2015\/08\/17story-residential-tower-planned-fort-norfolk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">reported last week<\/a>. The project\u2019s cost and construction timeline have yet to be revealed. The developer has filed a rezoning request and is expected to go before Norfolk\u2019s Planning Commission on September 24.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 500,000-square-foot residential tower is the project\u2019s centerpiece. According to the rezoning request, the high-rise will house 450 apartments, and a parking garage on the first level. Meanwhile, the five-story, mixed-use building will feature 256,000 square feet of space and 32 apartments, as well as a restaurant and 3,200 square feet of retail space.
