Following a year and a half of preparation, design reviews and community input, the County selected the new master plan for the facility. Known as \u201cNature\u2019s Edge\u201d, and conceptualized by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smithgroupjjr.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">SmithGroupJJR<\/a>, the new plan aims to reposition the medical center as a more sustainable, growth-oriented community that will be able to accommodate campus expansions for the next two to five decades.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_358164\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"width: 310px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2015\/08\/Natures-Edge.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-358164\" title=\"Nature's Edge\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2015\/08\/Natures-Edge.jpg\" alt=\"Nature's Edge \" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nature&#8217;s Edge<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Nature\u2019s Edge was one of four different plans submitted by SmithGroupJJR, accounting for various budget and time restrictions. The winning plan\u2019s overall green element that includes a green belt with an area for community parks and public facilities was eventually deemed the most suitable. Vetting from Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, as well as an Environmental Impact Report are necessary for the master plan to become official.<\/p>\n<p>Considering the future of the campus includes a new hospital, outpatient clinic, and a medical office building for the University of California Los Angeles, the new master plan needed to plan ahead for extensive changes. The plan was created with the reorganization of inpatient and outpatient services into dedicated buildings in mind, as well as the stimulation of a patient-centric environment.
