It\u2019s on the south end of the Texas A&amp;M campus, just a number of blocks away from the football stadium and a lot of the recreation areas, classrooms and buildings,\u201d Radd Way, Weitz Co.\u2019s executive vice president and leader on the project, told <em>Commercial Property Executive<\/em>. \u201cIt\u2019s a 48-acre site that\u2019s been an equestrian pasture for horses, so it\u2019s an untouched site in a lot of respect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The student housing units will range from studios to four bedroom units in a variety of layouts throughout the campus. Amenities include swimming pools, hot tubs, fire pits, grills, outdoor restrooms, fitness centers, study and gathering spaces, and game rooms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe apartment units themselves have granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and almost every bed has a private bathroom,\u201d Way said. \u201cInside there is a lot of appeal with study areas, game rooms, fitness centers, lounge areas. Outside amenities are more resort-like than what you would consider the typical housing on a campus to be. It\u2019s really a self contained village.<\/p>\n<p>The complex will also include retail and office space, as well as an eight-story parking garage, with an amenity deck on top, featuring a pool, fitness center and outdoor grills.<\/p>\n<p>The development will be built on 48 acres of pasture located near the south side of campus off of George Bush Parkway. According to Way, the student housing will have a substantial impact on the footprint of the Texas A&amp;M University campus.<\/p>\n<p>The owner\/development team did a ground lease to lease the land from Texas A&amp;M.
