\"Maple<\/a>One of Greater Cincinnati\u2019s largest retirement communities is planning to launch a $10 million renovation next spring.<\/p>\n

Maple Knoll Village<\/a> recently partnered with Episcopal Retirement Homes<\/a> to renovate the Meadows, a senior housing community located on the non-profit\u2019s Springdale campus, according to<\/a> the Cincinnati Business Courier<\/em>. The partners intend to pay for the project with the help of tax credits from the Ohio Housing Finance Agency.<\/p>\n

The Meadows was constructed in 1977 and consists of two connected buildings, with 149 one-bedroom apartments that house 155 low-income residents. Megan Gresham-Ulrich, a spokeswoman for Maple Knoll, told the Business Courier<\/em> that construction is scheduled to start in March 2016 and is expected to take about a year and a half.<\/p>\n

The non-profit will renovate 40 apartments at a time. In addition to the units, the project will also update security, improve accessibility for the disabled, expand bathrooms and kitchens, install new elevators, create more storage space and add up to 40 parking spaces.<\/p>\n

Model Group is the project\u2019s general contractor. North Avondale-based Newbar Design Group is the architect.<\/p>\n

In the next couple of months, Maple Knoll officials will start to meet with each resident affected by the renovation. Some people will be moved temporarily to other Maple Knoll communities.<\/p>\n
