In fact, its new home will be just a few doors from its current headquarters\u00a0at\u00a01380 Willow Road. PacBio will be moving out by Dec. 31, according\u00a0to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1299130\/000129913015000117\/pacb-20150724x8k.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">documents filed with<\/a> the Securities and Exchange Commission. The property is\u00a0part of a campus <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/cities\/san-francisco\/facebook-taps-gehry-for-menlo-park-project\/1004117348.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired by Facebook Inc. <\/a>earlier this year. The landlord is looking to take over the property sooner, asking the current tenant to terminate its lease. To sweeten the deal, Faceboook is offering an\u00a0unspecified rent abatement, according to<em> Silicon Valley Business Journal. \u00a0<\/em>For its part, PacBio will give up its renewal rights while amending its leases to stay in several of its buildings.<\/p>\n<p>The new location at 1360 O&#8217;Brien, on the other hand, is\u00a0the 217,000-square-foot former Office Depot distribution center that Tarlton and Principal Real Estate Investors bought in January for $36 million, as the <em>SVBJ\u00a0<\/em>reported.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When looking for a nearly 200,000-square-foot space, we focused our search on a combination of best design and proximity to our current location,&#8221; said Michael Hunkapiller, president &amp; CEO of PacBio, in a statement. &#8220;Menlo Business Park meets all of our criteria with their high-quality lab, warehouse and office space and many on- and offsite transit options.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Prior to PacBio&#8217;s lease, another biotech-related tenant, Menlo Park-based medical device company CardioKinetix, settled into 1360 O&#8217;Brien in late July with a 14,138-square foot lease.<\/p>\n<p>Kidder Mathews represented Tarlton Properties, and Newmark Cornish &amp; Carey represented Pacific Biosciences in lease negotiations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Commercial property development and asset manager Tarlton Properties has scored a sizable lease with a prominent biotech firm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":952,"featured_media":1004124805,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[21784,21742,21747,15],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1004124765","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-brokerage","category-latest","category-office","category-west"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v23.4 (Yoast SEO v24.6) -
