Although there are currently seven Whole Foods stores operating in Ohio \u2014 with three more under development \u2014 this will be the first one in Akron. But put your shopping speed on the \u00a0back burner for the moment, as the opening date has yet to be announced.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Scott Allshouse, president of Whole Foods\u2019 Mid-Atlantic Region, expressed his thanks to the city of Akron for welcoming his company and also sent a message to its residents. \u201dAs with every store, we aim not just to open in a community, but to really become a part of it. So we want to hear from you: what do you want in a store, and how can we best serve your needs?\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Akron lease is just one of eight recently signed by the supermarket chain for four Whole Foods Market and four 365 by Whole Foods Market stores.\u00a0The company also renegotiated one lease in development, converting it from a Whole Foods Market to a 365 by Whole Foods Market store. The other Whole Foods Market stores will open in Exton, Penn.; Charleston, S.C.; and Kirkland, Wash.
