{"id":1004123380,"date":"2015-07-15T14:30:34","date_gmt":"2015-07-15T22:30:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/?p=355336"},"modified":"2020-04-06T06:22:26","modified_gmt":"2020-04-06T14:22:26","slug":"community-solar-project-shines-bright-over-alamo-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/community-solar-project-shines-bright-over-alamo-city\/","title":{"rendered":"Community Solar Project Shines Bright over Alamo City"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>By Anca Gagiuc, Associate Editor<\/em><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_355337\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"width: 210px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2015\/07\/Roofless-Community-Solar.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-355337\" title=\"Roofless Solar\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2015\/07\/Roofless-Community-Solar.jpg\" alt=\"Roofless Solar\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Roofless Solar<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Texas\u2019 second roofless community solar pilot project is coming to San Antonio thanks to a partnership between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cpsenergy.com\/en.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">CPS Energy<\/a> and solar technology company and community solar project developer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.easycleanenergy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Clean Energy Collective<\/a> (CEC).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Back in February CPS Energy released a request for proposal seeking a vendor for the project and \u201cCEC emerged as the only vendor truly qualified to address CPS Energy\u2019s comprehensive program requirements,\u201d the utility said in the news release.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Colorado-based Clean Energy Collective will site, construct, and manage the 1.2-megawatt shared facility, providing CPS Energy customers the opportunity to own local clean energy through CEC\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rooflesssolar.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Roofless Solar<\/a> program. The project is expected to be completed later this year. Through it, any residential, commercial, or non-profit electric customer on CPS\u2019 territory can acquire individual panels in the facility. Customers will receive credit for their power production directly on their monthly CPS Energy bills.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The facility will feature single-axis tracker technology that follows the sun\u2019s path across the sky, increasing solar exposure and power generation by 15 percent over the traditional fixed systems.
