A foreign developer is partnering with a local company to build new schools in the Greater Cincinnati area.<\/p>\n

Sweden-based Skanska<\/a>\u00a0announced this week that, together with its joint venture partner, Cincinnati’s Megen Construction<\/a>, it has signed a contract with Fairfield City Schools and the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission to build schools in the city of Fairfield, Ohio. The total value of the contract is $65 million. Skanska\u2019s share is $46 million.<\/p>\n

The project calls for the demolition of the Central Elementary and Fairfield Freshman School. The joint venture will build three new school buildings that will total 30,000 square feet of space. Skanska said that all three have been pre-registered for LEED certification. Construction is expected to start in September. The $65 million project is expected to be wrap up by August 2017.<\/p>\n

Skanska is no stranger to building schools in the United States. The company is one of the the nation\u2019s leaders<\/a> in constructing, renovating and expanding educational facilities.
