Developers plan to bring two new hotels to downtown Cincinnati.<\/p>\n

The Cincinnati Business Courier<\/em> reports<\/a> that Kessler Enterprise Inc. plans to transform the former Procter & Gamble Co. building at 299 E. Sixth St. into a luxury hotel. The Orlando-based company is under contract to purchase the 110,000-square-foot property, currently owned by an affiliate of Scott Street Partners. Once the acquisition is complete, Kessler will start work on converting the building into a 125-key independent hotel. The project is expected to cost more than $40 million and create about 125 jobs.<\/p>\n

Richard Kessler, the development company’s president & CEO, told the Business Courier<\/em> that the new hotel \u201cwill be the No. 1 in the market.\u201d Called the Grand Bohemian Hotel Cincinnati, it would be a 4.5-star, full-service hotel, with a street-level bar and restaurant, a fitness center and a rooftop ballroom.<\/p>\n

Kessler has selected FRCH as the architect and Messer Construction Co. as the general contractor and hopes to start work in early 2016. Construction is expected to take about 15 months.<\/p>\n

The Business Courier<\/em> also said<\/a> that Eagle Realty Group and Winegardner & Hammons Inc. intend to combine the Anna Louise Inn and 311 Pike St. buildings and turn them into a new hotel and restaurant. According to plans presented in mid-June, at a Cincinnati Park Board Lytle Park master plan public meeting, the hotel will be an Autograph Collection with 106 guest rooms. In addition to the restaurant, amenities include a rooftop terrace, meeting and conference space and a fitness center. Winegardner & Hammons will operate the hotel.<\/p>\n

The price of the project was not disclosed. The developers are targeting a first-quarter 2017 opening. However, before construction can start, the project must receive approval from the city Historic Conservation Board, which is expected to consider the proposal next month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
