This afternoon, Monty Hoffman, CEO of PN Hoffman, and Doug Firstenberg, principal of StonebridgeCarras, will be present at 7170 Woodmont Ave. to celebrate the grand opening of The Darcy and The Flats. Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett and other officials will also attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project was developed by a joint venture between StonebridgeCarras, PN Hoffman and Northwestern Mutual. It <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/property-types\/mixed-use\/stonebridgecarras-pn-hoffman-northwestern-mutual-begin-construction-on-200m-mixed-use-project-in-maryland\/1004040044.html\" >broke ground<\/a> in April 2012, about four months after the three companies formed the joint venture. The total cost was $122.5 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Darcy and The Flats were developed on the 3.3-acre parcel formerly known as Lot 31, which was once the home of two public surface parking lots. The developers purchased it through a land transfer with Montgomery County.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Both of the new residential buildings are clad in metal and brick. The Flats is a five-story building with 162 apartments. The Darcy has nine stories and 88 condominium units.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bethesda\u2019s new mixed-use development was designed to achieve LEED Silver certification. In addition to the 250 residential units, it also includes 42,000 square feet of retail space and a four-level, below-grade public and private garage with about 950 public parking spaces.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Darcy and The Flats were designed by SK&amp;I Architectural Design Group.
