{"id":1004121021,"date":"2015-06-10T13:52:15","date_gmt":"2015-06-10T21:52:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/?p=352717"},"modified":"2020-05-19T00:55:28","modified_gmt":"2020-05-19T08:55:28","slug":"cherokee-nations-100m-campaign-widens-healthcare-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/cherokee-nations-100m-campaign-widens-healthcare-network\/","title":{"rendered":"Cherokee Nation\u2019s $100M Campaign Widens Healthcare Network"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>By Ioana Neamt, Associate Editor<\/em><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_352718\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\" style=\"width: 160px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2015\/06\/Redbird-Smith-Health-Center.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-352718\" title=\"Redbird Smith Health Center\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2015\/06\/Redbird-Smith-Health-Center.jpg\" alt=\"Redbird Smith Health Center\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Redbird Smith Health Center<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>In the latest milestone of its $100 million campaign to improve healthcare services, the Cherokee Nation recently unveiled a 30,000-square-foot annex at the Redbird Smith Health Center in Sallisaw.<br \/>\nThe $10.7 million expansion doubles the facility\u2019s size and provides a new physical therapy department, mammography services, drive-through pharmacy and community safe room.<\/p>\n<p>Cherokee Nation officials said they expect 145,000 patient visits at the expanded center this year, an increase of 25,000 compared to 2014.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Redbird Smith Health Center expansion was sorely needed as our employees and patients were dealing with cramped conditions,\u201d said Tribal Council Speaker Janelle Fullbright in the statement. \u201cThis new state-of-the-art addition rectifies those issues, plus adds new, essential services to the thousands of people who rely on the Cherokee Nation health care system, while also showcasing the region\u2019s history and spirit through the art work of Sequoyah County artists displayed throughout the health center,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Designed by Selser Schaefer Architects, the annex is the second project to be completed under the $100 million capital plan, which directs proceeds from the tribe\u2019s casinos to healthcare projects.
