The $150 million, 33-story Beachwalk Resort has opened, on the intercoastal waterway in Hallandale Beach, Fla., between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, it was announced Tuesday by Gemstone Hotels & Resorts, which will manage the property for the Related Group, its developer. The hotel is both Gemstone\u2019s first operation in South Florida and its first collaboration with Related, a Gemstone spokesperson told Commercial Property Executive<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The resort, at 2602 E. Hallandale Beach Blvd., features 300 units, 216 of which are divisible two-bedroom suites. The site was previously home to a vacant restaurant, according to Gemstone.<\/p>\n

Beachwalk reportedly is the first of three projects under development by Related in Broward County that will be operated by Gemstone, which is based in Park City, Utah.<\/p>\n

\u201cGemstone has an impeccable track record of maximizing and managing complex resorts in top vacation destinations throughout the U.S.,\u201d Related CEO Jorge P\u00e9rez said in a release. \u201cBy partnering with Gemstone on these projects, we are able to successfully expand our focus to include luxury hospitality services in our residential projects.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Beachwalk Resort is in the heart of everything visitors want from a South Florida vacation,\u201d said Jeff McIntyre, principal of Gemstone. \u201cAn amenity-rich resort with this combination of location, high style and casual vibe is certain to resonate with both domestic and international vacationers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beachwalk reportedly bears many design similarities to Related\u2019s residential projects, including earthy interior palettes of white and brown and contemporary Italian furnishings. Its amenities include an infinity pool, fitness center, complimentary bicycles, grocery shopping services and complimentary shuttle service to the Hollywood Broadwalk, Gulfstream Park Racing & Casino and Aventura Mall.<\/p>\n

Onsite restaurants include the Beachwalk Bistro & Market, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and grab-and-go items, and the Beachwalk Bar and Pool Grill.<\/p>\n

The hotel\u2019s three-story beach club has a pool with lockers, showers and restrooms, as well as an outdoor bar and restaurant with chaise service and beach facilities, all accessible by a complimentary electric trolley.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
