Charlotte-based developer Crescent Communities LLC is looking to take part in the redevelopment of Nashville\u2019s dormant Bellevue Center Mall with a 335-unit apartment project, reports The Tennessean<\/a><\/em>. Dubbed Crescent Bellevue, the apartment community would consist of 12 three-story buildings, five two-story buildings and 548 parking spaces, taking up 16.62 acres of the defunct mall\u2019s site. Crescent Bellevue would feature 146 one-bedroom floor plans, 136 two-bedroom layouts, 36 three-bedroom units and 17 one-bedroom carriage house apartments, totaling 356,349 square feet. According to The Tennessean<\/em>, Crescent is currently seeking final approval for the site plan created by national design consulting firm Kimley-Horn.<\/p>\n

As stated in\u00a0The Tennessean<\/em>, if the site plan is approved, Crescent Bellevue will be part of the more than $100 million redevelopment of the defunct Bellevue Center mall, currently under the ownership of Oak Brook, Ill.-based Retail Properties of America, Inc. (RPAI). The redevelopment of the one-million-square-foot mall is helmed by a joint venture between RPAI and Charlotte-based Crosland Southeast.<\/p>\n

The project aims to create a retail-driven, walkable, mixed-use development comprising 600,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space, 150,000 square feet of medical\/professional office space, around 300 apartment units and a hotel. According to News Channel 5,<\/a><\/em> the project has two-year development timeline, with a projected kick-off date in fall 2015. Bellevue Mall closed its doors several years ago. The only operational tenant is a Sears store, which is currently in negotiations to keep its location or move to a new structure onsite.<\/p>\n
