Financials on the transaction were not disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>Excess Space currently advises on 35.6 million square feet of retail space in North America and since its founding in 1992 reportedly has generated about $4 billion in savings for clients. Those clients include national supermarket, drug store, department store, home furnishing and restaurant chains, which Excess Space has assisted with dispositions of leased and fee simple property and other concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Its headquarters is in Lake Success, N.Y., and it also operates from an office in Huntington Beach, Calif.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s client list runs to more than 150 and invites one to wonder, \u201cWho <i>hasn\u2019t<\/i> worked with Excess Space?\u201d Just a sampling includes (take a deep breath): A&amp;P, AMC Theatres, Amoco, AT&amp;T Mobility, AutoZone, Bank of America, Baskin-Robbins, Best Buy, Blockbuster, Borders, Bridgestone, Burlington Coat Factory, Carrabba\u2019s Italian Grill, Chipotle, CVS, Denny\u2019s, Dillard\u2019s, Dollar General, Dunkin\u2019 Brands, Eckerd, Ethan Allen, Family Dollar, Gap, General Cinemas, Giant Eagle, Hollywood Video, Home Depot, JCPenney, Jiffy Lube, Kinko\u2019s, Kmart, Lane Bryant, Little Caesars, Lowe\u2019s, McDonald\u2019s, Michaels, Office Depot, OfficeMax, Outback Steakhouse, Panera Bread, Payless Shoe Source, PETCO, PetSmart, Pier 1, Radio Shack, Regal Cinemas, Rent-A-Center, Rite Aid, Sears, Sonic, Sports Authority, Staples, Stein Mart, Stop &amp; Shop, Sunglass Hut, T-Mobile, Toys R Us, Virgin, Wal-Mart, Waldenbooks, Walgreens, Wendy\u2019s, White Castle and Whole Foods.<\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s barely half the list.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cExcess Space is a dominant force in the niche area of real estate dispositions and lease restructurings for retailers, they have an excellent industry reputation, and their business of moving rapidly and efficiently to assist clients in healthy and distressed situations complements our own services,\u201d NGKF CEO Barry Gosin said in a release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRetail is evolving rapidly, and today\u2019s retailers face complex opportunities and challenges on multiple fronts,\u201d Michael Wiener, founder &amp; president of Excess Space, commented in the announcement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn partnership with NGKF\u2019s Global Corporate Services retail business, we can deliver stronger solutions across the entire lifecycle of clients\u2019 store portfolios, including strategic planning and revenue modeling, new store rollout management, project management, and lease administration.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NGKF&#8217;s parent company, BGC Partners, will be acquiring a retail real estate advisory firm with quite an impressive client list.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":882,"featured_media":1004099254,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[21783,21742,21749],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1004119611","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-investment","category-latest","category-retail"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v23.4 (Yoast SEO v24.6) -
