The price of the transaction remains undisclosed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">AquaLand purchased 36 of the 60 acres from the Newell family, including the old brewery, cannery building and grind shop. At a later date, the company has the option to purchase the remaining acreage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The new owner wants to turn the historic site into a mixed-use development that includes a micro-brewery, multifamily housing, a theater, music venues, restaurants, a farmer\u2019s market, retail spaces, offices and parks, reports <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/real-estate\/article\/Austin-company-purchases-Lone-Star-Brewery-6243896.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">San Antonio Express-News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIt\u2019s going to be more targeted to the south part of town,\u201d AquaLand Vice President\u00a0Mark Evans said. \u201cWe\u2019re going to do everything we can to preserve the historical features. \u2026 There are a lot of folks who have been in South San Antonio for a long time, and we\u2019re listening to their wants and needs. So there\u2019s no leveling of buildings that\u2019s going to happen here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project has the potential to revitalize the urban area further south.
