Broad St., in the former Miller &amp; Rhoads department store, a historic building built between 1888 and 1909. Miller &amp; Rhoads closed in 1990, and the building reopened in early 2009 as a hotel and condos. The Hilton Garden Inn Richmond Downtown shares the building with the Miller &amp; Rhoads Residences, a 133-unit residential property.<\/p>\n<p>New Orleans-based HRI Properties L.L.C., the property\u2019s owner, will oversee the transformation. Plans include the renovation of all 250 guest rooms, as well as the addition of 10,000 square feet of meetings and event space, a fitness center and a Hilton HHonors lounge. Completion is expected by the end of the year; the hotel will remain open during the renovations.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the development team said that it would take care to preserve the building\u2019s history.
