\"\"<\/a> Huntington Ingalls Industries is developing a health center in Newport News to provide affordable care for its employees and their families.<\/p>\n

The nation\u2019s largest military shipbuilder has selected Ritchie-Curbow Construction Co. as contractor for the 21,894-square-foot Huntington Ingalls Industries Family Health Center. It will be located on Washington Avenue between 45th and 46th streets at the company\u2019s Newport News Shipbuilding division.<\/p>\n

QuadMed will operate the center, which will offer primary care, radiology, physical therapy and laboratory services. Plans call for 19 exam rooms, five specialty exam rooms, two pediatric exam rooms, X-ray and chemistry labs, a full-service pharmacy and space for education and meetings. Huntington Ingalls expects to open the facility this fall. The project\u2019s cost was not disclosed.<\/p>\n

The Newport News project is one of two healthcare-related facilities in the company\u2019s pipeline. Also under construction is an employee health center for the Ingalls Shipbuilding facility in Pascagoula, Miss.<\/p>\n
