\"\"<\/a>Last November, LifeBridge Health announced its plans to acquire the Carroll Hospital Center. A few days ago, members of Carroll County Health Services Corporation, parent company of Carroll Hospital Center, voted to approve the affiliation agreement. With the signing of the final documents, Carroll Hospital Center has now become a subsidiary of LifeBridge.<\/p>\n

Carroll Hospital Center is a nonprofit hospital located in Westminster. It first opened in 1961, as the Carroll County General Hospital. At that time, the hospital had only 50 beds, and a staff of 125. As the years passed, the hospital expanded. It now has 193 beds, and, according to its website<\/em><\/a>, close to 2,025 employees, making it the second largest employer in Carroll County.<\/p>\n

As part of the agreement, LifeBridge has made a commitment to invest $250 million and help Carroll Hospital Center grow and advance in areas such as cardiovascular, cancer, hospice\/home care, surgery, women and infants and outpatient services. The money will be used to build and renovate facilities and to develop and expand medical services. LifeBridge will also make a $50 million donation to the Carroll Hospital Center Foundation\u2019s endowment fund, which supports patient care, scholarships, community education and other community benefit related programs.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen developing our Vision 2020 plan, we firmly concluded a strategic partnership was the best path forward for the next 50 years,\u201d Leslie Simmons, president & CEO of Carroll Hospital Center, said in a statement for the press. LifeBridge Health is one of the largest health services providers in the area. It includes Sinai Hospital, Northwest Hospital, and the Levindale Hebrew and Geriatric Center and Hospital.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n
