The Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) has awarded Graves Hospitality the sole right to own, develop and manage the state\u2019s first full-service hotel at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. According to the Minneapolis\/St. Paul Business Journal<\/a>, the board chose Graves over Mortenson Development and Morrissey Hospitality in a unanimous decision.<\/p>\n

Graves is working on the project alongside Denver-based PCL Construction, Intercontinental Real Estate Corp. and Minneapolis native RSP Architects. The company will enter into a long-term ground lease on the parcel right next to the U.S. Postal Service Facility near Lindbergh Terminal, according to a news release.<\/p>\n

The nine-story, 300-room hotel is slated for completion before the 2018 NFL Super Bowl in downtown Minneapolis. The luxury hotel will feature a $9.5 million skyway connecting it directly to a security gate at the airport\u2019s Concourse C, and will have its own security checkpoint, MPR News reports<\/a>. The hotel brand will be announced in the coming months.<\/p>\n

Located in Hennepin County, just 10 miles from both downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul, MSP International Airport is the largest and busiest airport in the upper Midwest region of the country, which includes Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.<\/p>\n
