Crew.<\/p>\n<p>Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc. and Poag Shopping Centers L.L.C. unveiled plans in January to develop a new outlet shopping center near Memphis. The two companies announced the first phase of the project, which consists of 310,000 square feet of retail space that can accommodate more than 70 stores.<\/p>\n<p>The new mall will rise on a tract located in Southaven, Miss., just 4.5 miles south of Memphis. According to Tanger Factory\u2019s official press statement, the project will create more than 400 new jobs during the construction phase and more than 900 permanent jobs upon build out. In addition, the mall is expected to generate more than $7.5 million in additional sales tax per year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to partner with Tanger to bring the finest outlet shopping to Southaven and the greater Memphis area, our home town. We truly appreciate the public\/private partnership under the Mississippi Tourism Project Incentive Program among the City of Southaven, the State of Mississippi and our team.
