\"\"<\/a> Costco and Trader Joe\u2019s are coming to Oklahoma this year, and Tulsa is getting both of the popular retailers\u2019 first stores in the state.<\/p>\n

Costco Wholesale Corp. recently paid $3.3 million for 18.2 acres on the corner of 103rd St. and Memorial Drive from Foundation Land Holding Co-Memorial #1, according to the Tulsa World.<\/a> The Issaquah, Wash.-based retailer plans to build a $22 million, 148,000-square-foot warehouse store by the fall of 2015.<\/p>\n

Costco\u2019s Tulsa store was announced in the spring of 2014, and is expected to employ 200 people. To comply with the state\u2019s alcohol sales laws, the retailer will build a separate liquor store next to the main grocery store.<\/p>\n

According to Michael Okuma, director of real estate development for Costco, the company plans on opening more locations in Oklahoma. Costco currently operates 474 stores in the U.S. and 671 worldwide.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles-based specialty grocer Trader Joe\u2019s has revealed plans for an approximately 9,500-square-foot store at the corner of 37th St. and Peoria Ave. in the Brookside area, KRMG reports.<\/a> The store is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2015.<\/p>\n
