A proposed $150 million development that would bring more than 200 new homes to the site of the Crooked Tree golf course in Mason is up for final approval by city officials.<\/p>\n

In an appearance before the city planning commission on March 3, Bob Garlock of Bayer Becker, a land planning firm and consultant to CT Devco Inc. detailed plans for the project, which would be known as Crooked Tree Preserve, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

CT Devco wants to build 212 single-family homes on the 168-acre former location of Crooked Tree Golf Course at Bethany and Mason-Montgomery roads. The commission voted unanimously to recommend the preliminary plan, which requires final approval from the Mason City Council.<\/p>\n

Of the 212 lots, 199 are designated for R-3 residential zoning, which specifies a minimum size of 100 feet wide and 15,000 square feet. The remaining lots are zoned R-6, which would allow for construction of up to 64 condos. but CT Devco will instead build 13 single-family homes on 85-foot-wide lots, David Brooks, the owner of Crooked Tree, told the Enquirer<\/em>. He added that there is currently a lack of custom homes in the Mason market. Also included will be 50 acres of green space.<\/p>\n

Home prices will range from $500,000 to more than $1 million. CT Devco Inc. has retained Drees Homes and Fischer Homes to develop the 212 homes, and plans to bring a third home builder to the project.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
