Newmark Grubb Knight Frank has hired Delta Associates founder Greg Leisch and his business partner of a baker\u2019s dozen years, Alexander \u201cSandy\u201d Paul, to join its Washington D.C. office.<\/p>\n

\u201cI joined the company 18 months ago and it was clear to me when I came on, that in everything we do\u2014every discipline, every submarket and every specialty\u2014that we want to be the best in class, and to do that you have to have best-in-class people,\u201d Brendan Owen, NGKF\u2019s chairman of asset services in its D.C. office, told Commercial Property Executive<\/i>. \u201cWe couldn\u2019t be more thrilled to have both of these guys aboard and are looking forward to working with them on what they have been so good at and so respected for.\u201d<\/p>\n

A 45-year-veteran in the commercial real estate industry, Leisch was named Senior Managing Director of Research. He is regarded throughout the industry for his annual TrendLines forecast conferences, in which he delves into the state of the U.S. economy and commercial real estate with extensive data, graphs, and his dry sense of humor.<\/p>\n

Leisch founded Delta 35 years ago and until recently served as its CEO. The company was acquired by Transwestern in 1995. Before his years at Delta, Leisch spent 10 years at Gladstone Associates helping to and manage the firm\u2019s valuation practice, run the company\u2019s computer center, and supervise its professional personnel.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor the past few years, I\u2019ve watched NGKF\u2019s growth around the U.S. and have been impressed,\u201d Leisch said in a company release. \u201cWith that growth comes this intriguing opportunity to\u00a0expand\u00a0the firm\u2019s research platform with Sandy, which will serve NGKF\u2019s diverse client base, and a market hungry for the best data and analysis it can get.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leisch has both a B.A. and M.S. from the University of Wisconsin and is a designated Counselor of Real Estate and member of Lambda Alpha. He is also an active member of The National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries and The American Society of Real Estate Counselors, and an associate member of The Real Estate Roundtable.<\/p>\n

\"Sandy<\/a>

Sandy Paul<\/p><\/div>\n

Paul joins NGKF as Managing Director of National Market Research. For 13 years, he served in several key roles for Delta, including executive vice president and national research director. Among his responsibilities, Paul reported on and analyzed regional economic conditions and commercial real estate markets from coast to coast, authored white papers on market trends, and delivered presentations at TrendLines conferences and other industry events. He received his B.A. from Dartmouth College and his Master of Public Policy from Duke University. He is also a designated Counselor of Real Estate.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hired a terrific and talented woman, Marianne Skorupski\u00a0from CBRE, (as the research manager overseeing the Washington-Baltimore region) and we wanted to complete the build out of the research platform for our region and Greg and Sandy complete that big time,\u201d Owen added. \u201cGreg needed no introduction, and Sandy, who I came to know through the recruitment process, is also spectacular. We identified these guys as being the best and are thrilled to bring it to a conclusion here.\u201d<\/p>\n

NGKF has hired more than two-dozen professionals in the D.C. Metro area; among them are vice chairmen Joe Donato, Maury Zanoff and Patrick Marr, and executive managing directors Edwin M. Clark, III, Stephen L. Hoffeditz, Sally Wilson and Junius Tillery.<\/p>\n
