\"\"<\/a>McAlister Construction Inc. recently broke ground on a residential development project that will feature geothermal cooling and heating systems in every home.<\/p>\n

The Avondale development in Moore will be the first of its kind to incorporate geothermal heat pump systems from Oklahoma City-based ClimateMaster<\/a>. According to a news release, the Tranquility 22 Digital Two-Stage Series geothermal pumps, together with boreholes drilled underneath each home\u2019s front yard will deliver year-round heating and air conditioning.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs builders, we want to build the most efficient houses in the most cost-effective way,\u201d said Josh Kitchen, McAlister Construction co-owner in a statement. \u201cThat is why we already incorporate elements like 2×6 exterior walls, blown-in fiberglass insulation, Low-E Argon gas-filled windows, and even independent third-party energy and air-leakage testing with all our homes.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Kitchen, the 46 Avondale single-family homes are expected to achieve Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index scores in the 30s and 40s, making them up to 90 percent more efficient than conventional existing homes.<\/p>\n

The project is scheduled for completion by April 2015, and will feature 46 homes ranging in size from 1,600 to 2,500 square feet.<\/p>\n
