Winthrop Towson<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Towson is home to a new luxury apartment community. The $80 million Winthrop Towson is now complete and is getting ready to receive its first tenants. They will move in next month.<\/p>\n

Chesapeake Realty Co. and Wood Partners started work on the project last year<\/em><\/a>. Winthrop Towson is the first phase of a larger development between Wood Partners, Chesapeake Realty Partners and the Taylor Property Group. It calls for the construction of two buildings near the Towson Town Center Regional Mall and Interstate 695. The two are designed to be complementary. Together, they will bring 470 new homes to the Towson Town Center. Phase II, developed by Wood Partners and Taylor Property Group, will feature 175 units.<\/p>\n

The five-story Winthrop Towson is home to 295 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartment residences, ranging in size from 735 square feet to 1,623 square feet. According to the luxury community\u2019s website, rents start from $1,520 per month for a one-bedroom unit, from $1,940 per month for a two-bedroom unit, and from $2,495 per month for a three-bedroom unit. Pierce-Eislen<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>reports that the average rent for a one-bedroom apartment in the Greater Baltimore area is $1,048 per month.<\/p>\n

Winthrop Towson also includes numerous amenities, such as a large game room, a pool, and even an onsite dog-washing station. The community was designed to achieve LEED Gold certification and features Energy Star windows and light fixtures, water-saving faucets, and high efficiency HVAC units and insulation.<\/p>\n
