The property will house two national retail chains, Chili\u2019s and Chick-fil-A. A third restaurant will follow in the future.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2014\/11\/Chick-fil-A_logo.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-309869\" title=\"Chick-fil-A_logo\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2014\/11\/Chick-fil-A_logo.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"281\" height=\"281\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The owner-developer of the land is Skarsgard Development, which purchased the property out of foreclosure in 2013, reports <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abqjournal.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Albuquerque Journal<\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019re calling it Gibson Rising just because Gibson has just (had) such a troubled past; they\u2019ve had buildings half-started and stopped and businesses go vacant, and it\u2019s had kind of a renaissance, a revival,\u201d he said. \u201cYou\u2019ve got Buffalo Wild Wings and Dion\u2019s and Denny\u2019s and Towne Center. The momentum has finally grabbed hold of Gibson. That\u2019s why I bought the property.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2014\/11\/Chilis_logo.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-309870\" title=\"Chili's_logo\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2014\/11\/Chilis_logo.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Chili\u2019s has already submitted a request for the building permit, with Chick-fil-A to follow. The three restaurants will be standalone buildings. Skarsgard estimates the ground-breaking will take place in January 2015. Funding for the project has been provided by Southwest Capital Bank.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Gibson Rising is not the only location Chick-fil-A plans to expand to. The chicken chain will build four new facilities in the metro area, all on Skarsgard properties. Aside from the one on Gibson, one location will be built in front of Home Depot at Eubank and Central, and one at 2274 Wyoming NE. these three are scheduled to open in 2015, while the one planned for Rio Rancho could come later in 2015 or at the beginning of 2016.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Chili\u2019s is interested in adding more locations in New Mexico, too.
