The glass wholesaler plans to relocate to Baton Rouge and expand its manufacturing operations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">ClearEdge Wholesale Glass\u2019s current location, in New Orleans, has 14,000 square feet of space. The company said it will invest $2.65 million to renovate a 41,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Baton Rouge. It will allow ClearEdge to keep up with customer demand and conduct new fabrication techniques.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The project will create 120 new direct jobs. ClearEdge also said that it will retain the 20 New Orleans employees, who have all agreed to move to Baton Rouge. The average salary of a ClearEdge is $39,300, plus benefits. Louisiana Economic Development expects the project to result in 113 new indirect jobs. It will also generate 20 construction jobs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">LED started working with ClearEdge in June 2014. In order to secure the project, the state of Louisiana offered the company the LED FastStart workforce development program, the No. 1-ranked state workforce development program in the United States. ClearEdge will also use the Quality Jobs and Industrial Tax Exemption programs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cClearEdge Wholesale Glass is a prime example of the growth and job creation we are seeing across Louisiana,\u201d Governor Jindal said in a statement for the press. \u201d As a result of our top-ranked business climate, more and more Louisiana companies are outgrowing their old facilities and expanding their operations to grow their businesses and provide more jobs for our people. Additionally, our world-class infrastructure and skilled workforce are giving businesses in Louisiana the confidence they need to continue to invest in our state.
