{"id":1004107536,"date":"2014-11-14T14:44:45","date_gmt":"2014-11-14T22:44:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/?p=306640"},"modified":"2020-04-30T00:51:29","modified_gmt":"2020-04-30T08:51:29","slug":"pappas-properties-breaks-ground-on-60m-berewick-town-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/pappas-properties-breaks-ground-on-60m-berewick-town-center\/","title":{"rendered":"Pappas Properties Breaks Ground on $60M Berewick Town Center"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_306641\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"width: 310px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2014\/11\/Berewick-Town-Center-groundbreaking.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-306641\" title=\"Berewick Town Center groundbreaking\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2014\/11\/Berewick-Town-Center-groundbreaking.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"98\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Berewick Town Center groundbreaking<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><em>By Eliza Theiss, Associate Editor<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Pappas Properties and regional grocery chain Harris Teeter have broken ground on Berewick Town Center, a mixed-use development located in the 1,200-acre Berewick master-planned community in Charlotte\u2019s Steele Creek area.<\/p>\n<p>The center\u2019s launch comes in the midst of rapid residential growth in Charlotte\u2019s Steel Creek area, and it continues the momentum created by the recent opening of nearby <em><a title=\"Simon, Tanger Factory JV Opens $90M Outlet Mall, Charlotte\u2019s First in 10 Years\" href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/cities\/charlotte\/simon-tanger-factory-jv-opens-90m-outlet-mall-charlottes-first-in-10-years\/1004101631.html\" >Charlotte Premium Outlets<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Expected to be completed by summer 2016, Berewick Town Center\u2019s phase one carries a $60 million price tag. It will include a town square, a hotel, retail and restaurant space, Walgreens drug store and a 53,000-square-foot Harris Teeter along Steele Creek Road, between Dixie River Road and Shopton Road West. The development will be walkable and bikeable.<\/p>\n<p>Phase two will include additional retail space, professional and medical office space, townhomes and apartments, and on-street parking.<\/p>\n<p>Shelco has been appointed general contractor for Berewick Town Center, while Shook Kelley and LandDesign will provide architecture and engineering services. Marketing, outparcel sales and office space interest will be handled by Pappas Properties\u2019 Brian Roth, while CNL\u2019s Gwen Ceaser will represent the development and retail space leasing.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_306643\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\" style=\"width: 310px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2014\/11\/Berewick-Town-Center11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-306643\" title=\"Berewick Town Center\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2014\/11\/Berewick-Town-Center11.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"195\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Berewick Town Center<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>2014 has been a successful year for the the Matthews, N.C.-based Berewick. <em><a title=\"1,200-acre Berewick Expands with Single Family and Retail\" href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/cities\/charlotte\/1200-acre-berewick-expands-with-single-family-and-retail\/1004093769.html\" >As previously reported<\/a><\/em>,\u00a0Pappas Properties, Charlotte, N.C., purchased 68.5 additional acres to expand Berewick\u2019s Village of Aberdeen to accommodate Lennar Corp.\u2019s plans to build 2,200- to 3,500-square-foot single family homes with prices starting in the low $200,000s.
