Ford Center Minneapolis<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

HGA Architects and Engineers\u2019 office interior at 420 N. Fifth St. has received 85 out of 110 points under the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED 2009 for Commercial Interiors. HGA moved in December 2011 into the historic Ford Center, a former Ford assembly plant that HGA renovated in collaboration with United Properties. According to a news release, the Ford Center received LEED Gold Core & Shell certification in December 2012 for its energy-efficient materials and mechanical system and proximity to mass transit. PropertyShark reports<\/a><\/em> that the 86,714-square-foot building constructed in 1913 is valued at nearly $25 million.<\/p>\n

Sustainable features of HGA\u2019s interior fit-out at the Ford Center include adaptive reuse of the existing building, historic preservation of architectural details, window improvements that preserve historic appearance, salvaged and repurposed wood, natural daylight with daylight controls, low-flow plumbing fixtures, low-emitting and recycled-content materials, an under-floor air distribution system and occupancy-sensor lighting controls.<\/p>\n

HGA\u2019s Minneapolis office is the third to achieve LEED certification. Almost half of the company\u2019s projects are seeking green design certifications such as LEED and net-zero energy.<\/p>\n
