The New Memphis Service Center<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. is preparing for the opening of its new Whitehaven service center on Oct. 20th. The 267-door facility will provide direct service to western Tennessee\u2013Memphis, Millington, Bartlett and Somerville\u2013to east Arkansas\u2013West Memphis, Wynne and Forrest City\u2013and to northern Mississippi\u2013Southaven, Olive Branch, Byhalia and Greenwood.<\/p>\n

The company invested more than $30 million in developing the new facility. Due to record growth registered in the region in the past four years, Old Dominion is also planning on adding about 100 new jobs over the next two years.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to celebrate our 35th anniversary in Memphis with this state-of-the-art facility,\u201d said Johnny Stricklin, manager of the Memphis Service Center. \u201cAs we continue to attract new customers in the region, we remain steadfast in our commitment and promise of delivering premium service to Old Dominion\u2019s customers.\u201d<\/p>\n

The new facility is located at 2098 Spirit of \u201976 Drive, and it is one of five service centers in Tennessee. The others are located in Chattanooga, Cookeville, Jackson-Dyersburg, Morristown and Nashville. The addition will serve Memphis well and vice versa, as Memphis is one of the company\u2019s busiest freight hubs on account of its proximity to Interstate 40, Interstate 50, three major rail heads, the largest American cargo airport and the second largest inland port in the nation.<\/p>\n
