OATI South Campus<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Minneapolis-based Open Access Technology International (OATI) is ready to break ground on its four-acre, 110,023-square-foot data center in Bloomington. The company purchased the land in 2012 for $1.5 million, according to the Star Tribune<\/em><\/a>,<\/em> and has recently received approval for the project from the Bloomington City Council.<\/p>\n

OATI\u2019s new five-story building will be located on the northeast corner of the I-494 and Hwy. 100 interchange on Computer Avenue, and will join the company\u2019s 22-acre headquarters in Minneapolis. According to a press release, the campus will feature a data center, office and meeting space, and will showcase OATI Smart Grid solutions and other products and services.<\/p>\n

\u201cOATI is expanding and adding new product lines quickly, including Smart Energy and Smart Grid solutions,\u201d said Dr. Sasan Mokhtari, president & CEO of OATI back in 2012. \u201cThis Minnesota site was the absolute best location to serve the needs of our growing company and was made possible because of the commitment Minnesota has made to data center technologies in the recent data center legislation.\u201d<\/p>\n

The OATI South Campus will feature solar panels and wind turbines on the roof of the building, the Minneapolis\/St. Paul Business Journal<\/em><\/a> reports. St. Paul-based Pope Associates is the architect of record. The campus is expected to house about 300 employees.<\/p>\n
