\"\"<\/a>The rebranded Shelborne reopened in late September as Shelborne Wyndham Grand South Beach after a $90 million restoration and renovation process.<\/p>\n

Co-owned by the Galbut family of Miami and Flag Luxury Group\u2019s Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos and Paul Kanavos, the building was built in in 1940 according to Art Deco architect Igor Polevitsky\u2019s plans. The original owners partnered with the two Flag Luxury Group investors to implement the renovation.<\/p>\n

Located in South Beach’s Art Deco District, the oceanfront facility is within walking distance to Lincoln Road and Ocean Drive. Shelborne Wyndham Grand features more than 15,000 square feet of event areas that include several meeting rooms, an executive boardroom, breakout rooms, a grand ballroom as well as indoor and outdoor flexible space. The hotel includes multifunctional areas such as the Drawing Room Bar & Lounge that serves as a business center and reading room by day.<\/p>\n

Meg Sharpe of Meg Sharpe Interiors and Richard Mishaan of Richard Mishaan Design were in charge of the interior design of the reborn property. Sharpe designed the public areas, including the main lobby reception, the Drawing Room Bar & Lounge, the Blue Harmony Spa beauty and wellness destination, and the pool and lounge area along with the nearby cabanas. Mishaan was tapped to design the guest rooms, suites, corridors, meeting spaces and ballrooms. The Glamorous Group of Tokyo designed the Shelborne\u2019s 180-seat indoor-outdoor Morimoto South Beach restaurant.<\/p>\n

Shelborne Wyndham Grand will add two specialty suites by year-end, including a spa suite and its penthouse suite, which will feature a vinyl lounge.<\/p>\n
