{"id":1004104492,"date":"2014-09-26T14:05:20","date_gmt":"2014-09-26T22:05:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/?p=294663"},"modified":"2020-04-06T06:17:59","modified_gmt":"2020-04-06T14:17:59","slug":"community-health-network-announces-175m-investment-in-new-health-pavilions-and-hospital-renovation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/community-health-network-announces-175m-investment-in-new-health-pavilions-and-hospital-renovation\/","title":{"rendered":"Community Health Network Announces $175M Investment in New Health Pavilions and Hospital Renovation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2014\/09\/Community-Hospital-East-in-Indianapolis-Artist-rendering.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-294664\" title=\"Community Hospital East in Indianapolis - Artist rendering\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2014\/09\/Community-Hospital-East-in-Indianapolis-Artist-rendering.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a>by Adriana Pop, Associate Editor <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Community Health Network is planning to invest $175 million in the construction of three new health pavilions on the eastside of Indianapolis over the next few years.<\/p>\n<p>The first phase of the project, which is scheduled to break ground this fall, includes a major renovation and expansion of the system\u2019s Community Hospital East, which will nearly double its number of patient rooms.<\/p>\n<p>Plans call for a completely revamped and modernized building exterior; two new health pavilions, including one in Beech Grove; a renovation and expansion of the emergency department, which will add 17,000 square feet and bring the number of patient rooms to 64; an enlargement and expansion of the ambulance bays and the addition of a new ED entrance on Ritter Avenue. Inpatient rooms will also be upgraded, along with the building\u2019s electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. Furthermore, a campus building that currently houses security, the kitchen connected to the cafeteria, an inpatient pharmacy and wound therapy services, will be removed in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The second phase of the project will include the renovation of inpatient surgery suites, the continuing refurbishment of inpatient rooms, as well as the construction of an additional health pavilion in the East Region over the next few years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Community Health Network has been committed to the eastside of Indianapolis since opening its first hospital there in 1956,&#8221; Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard said in a news release. &#8220;We believe this investment reaches beyond healthcare. It will positively impact the area economically and culturally, fostering a vibrant region with the resources necessary for residents to lead a healthy life.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The investment was prompted by changes in the way healthcare is provided. Community Hospital East was built in 1956, with a design centered on inpatient services. With its upcoming renovation project and the construction of new health pavilions, the Community Health system is also focusing on outpatient services.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We want our communities to know that, as we like to say, &#8216;We&#8217;re Here. For Good,&#8217;&#8221; added Bryan Mills, president and CEO of Community Health Network. &#8220;That means Community will remain firmly rooted on the hospital campus where our story began, with a facility redesigned for the future of healthcare. But it also means we\u2019re much more than a hospital.
