It was an intriguing juxtaposition, because while the U.S. is not immune to the current world risks\u2014terrorism, the Ebola virus, European currency weaknesses\u2014there is enough good news back home to engender a positive outlook. The job market continues its slow but steady improvement, and as George Ratiu, director of quantitative and commercial research for the National Association of Realtors, points out this month in his quarterly <em>CPE<\/em> column, upbeat consumers are infusing money into the retail sector.
