Hilton Worldwide\u00a0is developing a Home2 Suites by Hilton\u00a0hotel within the historic Consolidated Building in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n
The hotel, which will be owned by HRC Hotels L.LC., and managed by Good Hospitality Services, Inc., will be the first Home2 Suites property in Indiana, and demonstrates the brand\u2019s commitment to expanding in urban markets and using innovative building models.<\/p>\n
The hotel will consist of 102 suites on seven floors, and will be located in the annex of the Consolidated Building, which was built in the 1950\u2019s and most recently housed offices and retail spaces. Construction is expected to begin in 2015 and the hotel is scheduled to open in 2016.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Home2 Suites Indianapolis Downtown will be a midscale, extended stay hotel catering to both business and leisure travelers, perfect for guests staying for 5-plus nights or just for the weekend,\u201d Rick Colling, Homewood Suites by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton\u2019s vice president for brand performance support, told Commercial Property Executive<\/i>. \u201cThe hotel\u2019s spacious suites and added value amenities, like complimentary breakfast and free Wi-Fi, offer travelers a reasonable price point that will appeal to all types of guests, from millennials to boomers.\u201d<\/p>\n
Downtown Indianapolis was named third in the Top 10 Best Downtowns 2014 on the list from Livability.com.\u00a0Earlier this year, the city was also named one of the 52 Places to Go in 2014 by\u00a0The New York Times, <\/i>and Indianapolis International Airport was recognized as the Best Airport in North America by the Airports Council International.<\/p>\n
\u201cIndianapolis is consistently ranked as one of the best urban areas in the country and is home to a number of the country\u2019s most recognized brands as well as popular tourist attractions, all of which add to the appeal,\u201d Colling said. \u201cHRC Hotels L.L.C. and Good Hospitality Services presented the opportunity to house Home2 Suites in the annex of Consolidated Building\u2014an interesting, historic adaptive reuse project\u2014and we thought this location would be an ideal place to expand our brand footprint and offer entry into a new market of the Midwest for us.\u201d<\/p>\n
Demand and occupancy for the extended stay market are up across the board. According to Colling, the Indianapolis hotel will be a great example of the flexibility of the Home2 prototype and how the company works with its owners to customize properties to fit the needs of the market.<\/p>\n
\u201cAn adaptive reuse (project), like this hotel will be, also fits our brand\u2019s sustainable model. We use a number of sustainability practices during construction and throughout the amenities of the hotel,\u201d he said. \u201cUsing recycled materials for the countertops throughout our signature Oasis, the breakfast and lobby areas, for example, as well using recycled carpet tiles and dual flush toilets that reduce water use.\u201d<\/p>\n
