\"\"<\/a>Kettler, The Howard Hughes Corporation and Orchard Development Corporation announced last week the start of pre-leasing at The Metropolitan Downtown Columbia. The $100 million, mixed-use development is located in Columbia\u2019s Warfield neighborhood and is expected to open later this year.<\/p>\n

The project broke ground last year<\/em><\/a>, on February 11. The Metropolitan Downtown Columbia is the first development to proceed under the 2010 Downtown Columbia Plan, which calls for the construction of 5,500 residential units, 4.3 million square feet of office, 1.25 million square feet of retail and up to 640 hotel rooms in Columbia\u2019s downtown, as well as the construction of a new multi-modal transportation system and the redevelopment of Merriweather Post Pavilion concert venue.<\/p>\n

The new community features 380 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes and loft-style units with numerous luxury finishes. Last year, the developers said the units will rent for prices between $1,500 and $2,800 per month. The Metropolitan Downtown Columbia also includes the largest resident clubhouse in Columbia, as well as many other amenities such as a state-of-the-art fitness center, media and game rooms, two lush courtyards, a resort-style pool, a 28,500-square-foot public promenade, garage parking, nearly 14,000 square feet of ground floor retail space and more.<\/p>\n
