\"\"<\/a>Avalon Solar, the 35 MW renewable energy project in south-central Arizona is under construction and the development has recently reached an important milestone, as Array Technologies Inc.\u00a0 has successfully shipped the solar trackers to the site for installation.<\/p>\n

Headquartered in Albuquerque, N.M., Array Technologies specializes in on-ground, mount fixed-rack and solar tracking solutions for utility, commercial and residential solar electric systems. The company shipped and installed trackers for photovoltaic projects worldwide with the total output of more than 2 gigawatts.<\/p>\n

Swinerton Renewable Energy, the company that is building the solar farm, has chosen Array\u2019s DuraTrack\u2122 HZ single-axis solar tracker for the project, largely due to its fast and easy installation procedure. Components of the equipment come pre-kitted and both companies will play a part in the process of installing the trackers. Despite being long-term partners, this is the first time the two firms are working together in Arizona.<\/p>\n

Located about 23 miles south of Tucson\u2019s central area, near Sahuarita, Avalon Solar will feature a number of advanced features and recent innovations, such as\u00a0 a fully bolted solution, module clamps with integrated grounding and an improved 120-degree tracking range of motion. \u00a0As\u00a0<\/em>previously reported<\/em><\/a>, the PV project also known as Pima Mine Road Solar Generating Facility is under terms of a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement with Tucson Electric Power. Once completed, the 35 MW plant will generate enough electricity to power north of 7,000 households.<\/p>\n
