\"\"<\/a>A Koch Industries Inc. subsidiary plans to begin work in mid-September on a $1.3 billion expansion of its fertilizer facility in Enid that will increase urea and ammonia production capacity by more than 1 million tons per year.<\/p>\n

Located at the Koch fertilizer plant at 1619 S. 78th St., the project will add a 900,000 ton-per-year urea plant, an electric power substation, high-speed truck and rail road loading facilities, improvements to existing processing plants, and a new urea storage facility. The development is also expected to create 50 to 60 permanent jobs upon completion.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis investment by Koch Nitrogen is one of the largest construction projects in the history of Koch Industries,\u2019\u2019 said David Robertson, Koch Industries’ president. \u2018\u2019It reflects the ongoing growth of our fertilizer business and underscores our commitment to innovation and creating long-term value.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

Key consultants include Black & Veatch, which will handle project planning and engineering services; KBR, Inc., which will serve as construction manager; and Netherlands-based Stamicarbon will provide urea synthesis and granulation technology.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019These improvements and additions to our Enid facility will significantly enhance our current operations and allow us to meet our customers\u2019 needs in a more efficient and effective manner\u2019\u2019, said Chase Koch, president of Koch Fertilizer L.L.C. \u201cWe appreciate our positive working relationship with the State of Oklahoma, the Garfield County Board of Commissioners, the Enid Regional Development Alliance and the city of Enid. We are looking forward to breaking ground on this important investment.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
