Shortly after the <a title=\"Philadelphia 76ers Will Finally Have Their Own Training Center, But in Camden\" href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/cities\/philadelphia\/philadelphia-76ers-will-finally-have-their-own-training-center-but-in-camden-2\/1004098318.html\" >Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> revealed plans for their own training center in Camden and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/cities\/boston\/boston-bruins-sign-lease-agreement-for-new-practice-facility-at-boston-landing\/1004100437.html\" title=\"Boston Bruins Sign Lease Agreement for New Practice Facility at Boston Landing\" target=\"_blank\">Boston Bruins<\/a> inked a long-term lease deal for a hockey rink at Boston Landing, the Brooklyn Nets announced they will build a new practice facility at Industry City in Brooklyn\u2019s Sunset Park section.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Called \u201cHospital for Special Surgery Training Center\u201d after the famed orthopedic Manhattan hospital that bought the naming rights, the 70,000-square-foot complex will be located at 148 39<sup>th<\/sup> Street, roughly three miles from Barclay\u2019s Center where the NBA team plays its home games. According to <em><a title=\"NetsDaily\" href=\"https:\/\/www.netsdaily.com\/2014\/6\/26\/5846028\/brooklyn-nets-unveil-new-training-center-at-industry-city\" rel=\"nofollow\" >NetsDaily<\/a><\/em>, the training center will occupy the eighth floor and rooftop of a century-old warehouse building that also houses a 3D printers company called MakerBot Industries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Nets\u2019 will invest $45 million in their new training center which will have two full basketball courts, a weight room, a training pool and two hydro pools, rooftop entertainment space and a multimedia theater with 18 seats. The plans designed by MANICA Architecture of Kansas City and New York-based Mancini Duffy also include a 3,000-square-foot lounge for player relaxation and hospitality, as well as a media room for interviews.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_275745\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\" style=\"width: 310px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2014\/07\/Brooklyn-Nets-Training-Center.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-275745\" title=\"Brooklyn Nets Training Center - indoor\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2014\/07\/Brooklyn-Nets-Training-Center.jpg\" alt=\"Brooklyn Nets Training Center - indoor\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Brooklyn Nets Training Center &#8211; indoor<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Nets\u2019 \u201cHospital for Special Surgery Training Center\u201d will also host youth basketball clinics, community events and will support local business development operations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meant to finally bring all the Nets-related offices to Brooklyn, the Industry City location will replace the team\u2019s current training home in East Rutherford, where the Nets have practiced for the past 15 years. &#8220;Now, our arena, training center and offices will all be together in this great borough,&#8221; said Irina Pavlova, president of Nets owner ONEXIM Sports and Entertainment, who along with her team visited around 50 different sites before finally choosing the Industry City location.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to an official statement, Cushman &amp; Wakefield represented the Nets in the leasing transaction. Construction at the site is scheduled to begin this summer and is expected to be completed just in time for the 2015-2016 season.
