This time last year, we asked whether compensation would hit a plateau for performance year 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly enough, for the month immediately preceding last year\u2019s publication, a somewhat dire mood confronted the industry for the first time since the conclusion of the financial crisis, as the Federal Open Market Committee minutes released on May 22, 2013, suggested Fed tapering could begin as early as June.
